Thai Massage is...

...oh so energizing.  This ancient form of bodywork, a branch of sacred Ayurvedic medicine, is comprised mainly of rhythmic compressions, rocking and stretching to optimize energy flow throughout the body and restore and relax tissues.  The end result is that channel after channel of energy flowing through the person are opened.  Clients paradoxically leave relaxed but more energized at the same time.  This work looks at the client as a whole and as such can address many imbalances and leave the client feeling much more unified anatomically.

...yoga done for you.  Thai massage is also called Lazy Person's Yoga because the practitioner is essentially doing the yoga for you.  Thai bodywork practices are contained in the same Ayurvedic texts as yoga and are not intended solely for a client to feel physically more stretched, but also healthier and more spiritually opened.  The pressure, typically heavy, can vary greatly, and the client is typically clothed.  It can be performed on the floor or on the table.  I typically work on a mat on the floor.  Thai is not timed.  It is slow, methodical, rhythmic and never rushed.  It is meant to treat the body as a whole and usually lasts 90-120 minutes.
